The latest edition of the Wholesale World Congress (WWC) concluded in Madrid, Spain, setting new records with 2,100 participants from over 90 countries. Company attendance also reached a high, with around 700 organizations from across the globe present, either with their own stands or as visitors.
During the WWC sessions, key topics included traditional wholesale SMS businesses, with strong interest in gambling-related text messages, particularly from companies in countries such as Brazil. Mobile identification tools (mobile ID) in all their forms also drew significant attention, as did messaging services, including WhatsApp Business and Rich Communication Services (RCS).
Another theme that gained traction—though slightly behind the others—was the Internet of Things (IoT), especially solutions such as eSIM cards. Notably, this edition marked the debut of companies from the AIoT market (Artificial Intelligence of Things, combining AI technologies with IoT infrastructure), offering SIM and eSIM cards to enable smart device connectivity.
An Impressive Turnout
The congress took place at the Meliá Castilla Hotel in the Spanish capital, where the large presence of attendees and companies made it necessary to open more halls than in previous years.
Why is this event so relevant? Because it is the leading meeting point for the international wholesale telecommunications community, with a strong focus on networking and business development. It attracts key players from the global wholesale telecom market across all sectors of the industry: tier 1, 2, and 3 operators, mobile and wireless carriers, internet service providers (ISPs), VoIP providers, and technology partners for voice, SMS, eSIM, and data. These features make WWC a truly strategic venue to explore the key trends shaping the industry and to forge strategic agreements and alliances that drive growth and innovation.
It is worth noting that WWC offers dedicated spaces such as the SMS Corner, eSIM Hub, and Data Exchange, designed to facilitate business agreements and identify opportunities. It also provides extensive meeting areas for all registered organizations, including conventional rooms, premium brand rooms, bilateral tables, and exhibition stands.
In addition, all delegates benefit from access to the messaging system, online meeting scheduling, and contact platform for one month before and up to two months after the WWC, enabling them to maximize the business opportunities generated by the congress.

Plusmo, Playing a Leading Role
As in every edition of WWC, Plusmo stood out as a key participant. This year, we hosted our own stand and held numerous meetings with companies from China, the Middle East, Lebanon, the United States, Spain, Italy, France, Portugal, and several African countries, among others. These conversations generated valuable business opportunities.
Throughout the event, we met with clients and prospects while also strengthening relationships with companies seeking to scale their communications, explore new channels, or enhance their messaging strategies. To these organizations, we showcased our Plusmo Engage platform.
Our Plusmo Protect platform for real-time mobile fraud prevention also attracted strong interest, helping add an extra layer of trust and security to transactions and communications.
Once again, WWC confirmed its status as the world’s leading hub for wholesale telecommunications. At Plusmo, we are proud to have participated in this major event and to continue serving as a reference point in such a dynamic market as mobile telecommunications, with our innovative solutions in identity protection, omnichannel communication, IoT, and mobile payment facilitation.
