If nothing else, at least the Bears have decided on a starting quarterback. That's the good news, maybe, depending upon how well Kyle Orton plays after winning the quarterback battle with Rex Grossman.
So far, though, that's about the only question the Bears have answered of the many that faced a team looking to rebound from last year's 7-9 record.

Leave it to Mike Brown to deliver one of the bigger hits from the Chicago Bears recently. The Chicago Bears released cornerback Ricky Manning Jr. on Tuesday. In two seasons with the Bears, he appeared in 31 games with 11 starts. With the Bears, Manning had 106 tackles, three sacks and five interceptions. He signed with the team as a restricted free agent in 2006. Manning entered the league in 2003 as a third-round selection of the Carolina Panthers.

Gene Upshaw was common sense writ extra large. Most men that big usually roll over people to get what they want.
